Realising more comfort for customers through development utilising knowledge in the field of mechatronics

- Please tell us about your current department and your role there.

It is a department that develops, designs, and assembles production-related equipment mainly utilised at logistics bases of Shachihata Engineering and Shachihata. We develop more advanced production facilities by using technologies in the fields of mechanical engineering and electronic control.

In addition, we develop not only production facilities but also electronic stationery of Shachihata. In the department, I’m mainly in charge of designing equipment using 3D CAD and the assembly of equipment after design.

- Shachihata has the top share in the market for stampers used in offices and homes, but it also develops electronic stationery.

- Is there anything in your work you are particularly committed to?

Since a minor error at the design stage can lead to a deviation in the equipment as a whole, I try to prevent errors by reviewing designs in detail. Mechatronics is a technology that works designed machines by the electronic control, and leads to the creation of comfortable production lines and services that are comfortable to use However, if an error is made at the design stage, it will also affect electronic control.

Even when design work is finished, I do not consider it to be completed. I continue to work on my designs by reviewing them from different views and anticipating a number of possibilities. - I clearly feel your carefulness and sense of responsibility with respect to design. You are a front-runner in the development that starts product development in the fields of mechatronics and robotics.

- Could you tell us about the environment and atmosphere of your workplace?

There are many people around me who have worked for the company for a long time, and they carefully teach me things that I have trouble with or find difficult. I feel like it is a good environment in which I can continue my work. In addition, since my workplace has a friendly atmosphere, it is easy to ask questions, and I can feel that I’m growing every day.

- When you saw the attitudes of your senior colleagues, were there any things that were especially impressive or enlightening?

They teach me about the practical parts of 3D CAD software, and it is especially informative. Though I had the basic knowledge, there are many aspects of it that need to be applied when actually making a design, and my senior colleagues taught me a lot. There are still many things that I don’t know, and I want to keep learning to improve myself.

- How about communication with your colleagues?

To be honest, when I joined in the company, I worried about the environment changing drastically and having to fit in with the existing community. But I found many of my colleagues friendly soon, and I truly appreciate them. I feel it was a great to have people around me who were in the same situation as me and who I could easily share my anxieties and joys with.

- Growing through your work is, of course, important, but having a workplace where you can work and feel comfortable together with senior colleagues and other colleagues is also important.
